Please contact me if you would like to discuss how I can contribute to support the wellbeing of children, staff and parents in your school through Integrative Counselling.
Usually I would arrange a visit to your school and meet you personally in order to discuss your needs and the details of my service.
When we have reached an agreement I would work closely with a key person in your school, such as the Inclusion Manager or SENCO, in order to discuss referrals and the on-going work within the framework of confidentiality; I would also work with the responsible person for safeguarding and childprotection, in order to report concerns when necessary.
I work in a holistic way with the child. I will be meeting with parents and carers for regular reviews and would also be meeting with teachers and TA’s or other members of staff involved with the child, such as Learning Mentors or Educational Psychologists. I would liaise as necessary with agencies involved with the child, such as CAMHS or Social Workers.
Primary Schools would provide a regular room for me to work with the child or group, which should be free of interruptions whilst the therapy is taking place. Ideally the room should be suitable for art making and it should have a lockable storage cupboard for keeping equipment, confidential paperwork and children’s art work. The school would provide with some basic art and play materials.
Weekly sessions last generally 50 minutes.
I can write reports on my work with the child and contribute to professional meetings when necessary.
