Counselling, art making and playI use different forms of expression, such as painting, drawing, working with clay, sand tray therapy, sound-music making and play, as well as spoken language. These forms of expression support children and adolescents in expressing and exploring thoughts and feelings, worries, or experiences that they may find hard to express with words.
On occasions a session may include simple breathing and movement exercises. Children and adolescents do not need any particular talent or skill in order to engage in this approach to counselling. Adolescents may prefer talking instead of using arts media. I am experienced in working with adolescents in this way. |
